My husband and I are headed to Europe! We can not wait to go on this adventure together as newlyweds and continue traveling the world together. For the last few months we have been working closely with my friend, bridesmaid, and travel agent, Trish, to plan the honeymoon of our dreams.

Ever since we decided we wanted to go to Europe, we would talk about how we wanted to visit quaint little villages, tucked away in the country side, with cobblestone roads and places we could hike. We wanted something romantic, beautiful, and touristy enough that we don’t have to know Italian…. but not SO touristy that it looks like every language threw up on each street sign. 😉 We are delighted to be traveling to the Cinque Terre on the west coast of Italy, then road tripping it up to the mountains along the Switzerland boarder and staying at the most quaint little bed and breakfast on Lake Como.

I am writing this blog post from Paris as we wait for our connecting flight to Italy! Long story short- it has been a crazy day of travel since our first flight had to do a medical emergency landing in Canada because a passenger had a medical condition! (Prayers to him!) We sat at this tiny little Canadian airport, on the plane, as we waited for the planes brakes to cool and for them to fill out the necessary paperwork when they land where they are not supposed to. By the time we got to Paris, we missed our layover flight by about an hour, so we are sitting here for 4 more hours as we wait to catch the next flight to Genoa. You just never know where an adventure will lead you! Real happy to be stranded in this airport with my best friend! Cheers to the weekend, friends!

Hi Kate – I went to high school with your mom (we were on poms together) and saw your wedding photos through her Facebook page – I couldn’t help but read this as we’re headed to Europe today, too, and will be in the Lake Como area next week – so, if an American approaches you in a crowd and says hello don’t be alarmed, it may be me! Congrats to you and your new husband and bon voyage!
