Backyard Minnesota Wedding - Destinie & John - Minneapolis Photographer

It was a beautiful day in July. The sun was shining bright and laughter could be heard from the open house windows as you pulled into the long gravel driveway to get to the Beatty Farm. The day started with the girls enjoying mimosas as light flooded through the dining room where they did their hair and makeup. Family and friends gathered outside to get things set up. Destinie and John were calm and collected, and the love they share for each other was so evident throughout their first look and the photos of the two of them together.

And can we talk about John's reaction when he watched Destinie walk down the isle?! I am not ashamed to admit that I  was crying behind my camera.

One reason why I love Destinie and John so much? Their love for travel. The first time I met them, we talked about all of the trips they had been on and the summer they took a road trip up and down the coast of California. I love that they incorporated their passion for adventure into their wedding. Instead of table numbers, each table was labeled with a destination that they have visited and a photo of them in that place. The reception started by guests retrieving their 'plane ticket' place cards that directed them to their table.

And to end this perfect day, God blessed them with the most beautiful sunset on their first night as husband and wife.

Taylors Falls Engagement Session - Minnesota Wisconsin Photographer

Being asked to photograph another photographer's wedding is always such a HUGE honor to me! Tarah is nothing but sweetness and seeing the way Alex looked at her during their engagement session might have been even sweeter. Their love and smiles are contagious, and I am just so excited to shoot their wedding this fall at Hidden Meadow and Barn in Wisconsin. I love how Tarah knew that for her engagement session she wanted to go on an adventure. So we hit up Interstate Park last October and hiked till the sun hit the horizon-- My favorite kind of session.

Traveling Photographer - Destination Aruba - The Bali Market

I recently did a shoot with The Bali Market that featured their amazing turkish towels in several different ways around the home! I was excited when Grace wanted to do some photos of the towels in Aruba as well, since they are just perfect for traveling. When I was in Aruba, I used mine as a beach towel, plane blanket, coverup, and hair towel. They are so light weight and easy to pack in your suitcase or beach bag. They also have a GIVEAWAY going on right now until March 24th, so be sure to put your name in to enter! :)

Hansen Tree Farm Engagement Session - Lindsey & Bo - Minneapolis Wedding Photographer

We scheduled Lindsey and Bo's session for February because we wanted to have a beautiful winter session! Well-- remember February this year? It was almost 70 degrees and raining cats and dogs on the day we scheduled their session! I was sure that we had already missed our opportunity for winter photos, so we rescheduled our session for March because we both figured  it would be a lovely spring session with tall golden grasses and pine trees! Well, we were so wrong (and I am so happy about it) because we got the winter session that we were dreaming about! The snow was falling fast & we were in the most magical forest of tall Northern pine trees that I love so dearly. Thanks for such a fun day Lindsey and Bo! Your session feels like it came out off a dream!
